Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praises.
James 5:13
Please post your prayer requests and your praises so that our class can both pray for and rejoice with you.
Won’t it be exciting to see the ways that the Lord responds as we commit ourselves to praying for one another?
Please pray as we try to sell our house. I would like a really clear answer from Him – so far it feels like we’re doing what He’s leading us to do, but I need this door to either be flung wide open or shut tight.
Hey guys, I know I have informed yall about my dad’s Alzheimer’s. Well just this week he has become more angry and threatening my mom. We have tried to start new medication, but these things aren’t immediate in there actions. Last night we as a family came to an agreement that we would begin the process of preparing him and ourselves to place him in some type of long term care facility. It is hard to do for me because when I am around him he still has his good moments and I don’t see the anger in him. However, I don’t feel like it is fair to continue to put my mom at risk of something bad happening when just the two of them are together. Please pray that our hearts are at ease in this matter and that he will know that we are not abandoning him.
Sorry for the long drawn out note.
Thanks for being there for each other.

I’ve got a few requests tonight.
First, my parents leave Saturday on their mission trip to Austria. Please pray for them and the other 10 people going that God will use them, protect them, teach them, and bless them. Also, I’m a little bit irrationally worried about them travelling overseas. I just don’t want to think about losing anyone else right now.
Second, I have some financial decisions I am now able to make and want to make. I don’t have to decide anything right now and maybe it would be best to wait a few months, but with my personality I like to get things done. I want my decisions to be a blessing and not a curse for both me, the kids, and the future. With my knowledge I may be over-analyzing everything and making it too complex, I don’t know. So pray for clarity that I’ll make the right decisions at the right time.
Lastly, I would like, and think I need, some time away by myself I just don’t know if I can leave the kids for very long (mentally/emotionally) or even how to go about getting away.
Thanks,
Matt

I have 2 prayer requests.
Please pray for my health. I had some tests come back that need further testing. I will have a procedure done on Monday, October 15th to see what additional treatment is needed.
Please continue to pray for my brother-in-law, Kip Frye. He was knocked off the top of an 18-wheeler while loading corn a coupel of weeks ago and broke his leg beneath the knee in 15 places. He is very fortunate his injuries were not worse but he is struggling with the pain (you can imagine the pain of 15 breaks in your bone) as well as the helplessness (he needs help getting up because he is not supposed to be on the leg at all for 6 full weeks). Please pray for my sister, Misty, as well. She is taking care him, running her business (she owns a flower and gift shop in Friona, Texas), and taking care of their 2 children, Sydney (8) and Samuel (6).
I also have a praise! Many of you know that the past year and half have been very difficult for myself and my sons , Keller (4 1/2) and Kimble (2) personally. Through all of our hardships, God was there and blessed our lives. How fortunate we have been to have him as the center of our lives and as our strength and encouragement. We have been blessed again to have Chuck (my fiance) come into our lives. I thank God for my relationship with him and for providing a wonderful friend, Godly and supportive husband, and attentive and loving father when he brought Chuck into our lives.
Chuck and I plan to be married November 26th in Jamaica. We are both very excited and thank God every day for our relationship. The boys are excited too (Keller says we are all getting married! He is right!)
Although we may not see it at the time, God does have a plan for our lives and soemtimes out of terrible circumstances and situations comes God’s greatest gifts.
As most of you know, my brother’s wife – Shannon- has Letter-Sewi Disease (an extremely rare form of histiocytosis). She is currently undergoing her second round of treatment since the first round failed to put her disease into remission. She is tolerating the treatments well right now and remains able to care for her 2 yr old and 4 yr old. My brother’s job currently requires him to travel throughout the country for 3-5 days at a time. He has been having to travel every week lately, and his schedule look like it will keep him away from home a lot in the coming months.
At this point, I would ask that you be praying very specifically and faithfully for the following:
1. Please pray for Shannon’s complete and total healing and recovery from this illness.
2. Please pray that she will be able to tolerate the upcoming chemo treatments without interruption to her ability to care for her family and home.
3. Please pray that the Lord will intervene in my brother’s job to allow his anticipated move (within the next year) to be IN TEXAS instead of elsewhere in the country.
4. Please pray for wisdom for her doctors as they treat this rare disease.
Thank you so much for your prayers! Amy
Let’s pray for David, Jennifer Crews, and the baby that is coming in June.
Please pray for some members of our old Sunday School class from Hyde Park Baptist in Austin. Bryan and Sarah Moran’s young daughter, Audrey, was struck by a car and killed. The Moran’s live in Leander. I am not sure how old Audrey was, but please pray for this family at this tragic time.
This is a message from Stephanie King (she is a member of our church and is pregnant with her third child):
I wanted to ask you to pray for me as I grow because I am having difficulty walking. Things are fine with the pregnancy (no emergency surgeries or daily shots like with the last one!), but I have a lower back issue stemming from gaining weight in the belly and carrying Kailyn on my hip all the time. It makes me literally fall sometimes and causes severe pain. At the moment there isn’t much that can be done for it except for prayer. Which is really all it needs anyway!
Thanks!
Please pray for my bosses mother-in-law, Leona Myrick. She fell the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and broke her hip. She’s been in and out of ICU and rehab. She got moved back to rehab yesterday and seems to be doing better. Ms. Myrick is in her 80s and is a very sweet lady. My bosses wife Gay is her only child and it’s taking a toll on Gay and Mike since they live in Levelland and Ms. Myrick is now in the hospital in Lubbock.
This is from my friend Emily in Austin. I do not know this family, but they can certainly use our prayers right now:
“Please pray for my good friend Kristie and her husband George and their 2 month old Olivia. Olivia was hospitalized tonight with bacterial meningitus and is in critical condition. I can not imagine this being my child and they are asking everyone who will to please pray for little Olivia. Love, Emily”
Please pray for Allison….
My sweet lady that I know through an organization that I’m a part of, Allison, was found unconscious by her husband on Monday morning, she remains unconscious and non-responsive in the ICU at Covenant. Here is the latest information that I have from her family.
Apparently Allison had an ovarian cyst burst last week and then developed a UTI. Her pain management system included a medicine with Tylenol in it. Her husband woke up on Monday morning with Allison draped over him. He pushed her onto her side of the bed and she just flopped over. That is when he knew something was wrong.
As of today they are going to try and wean her off of the respirator…they stated that if they even get a decrease in dependency they will deem it a success. Her vitals were all normal, her brain and lungs are good, but she has endured a massive liver injury and her liver has basically shut down. They are thinking that large amounts of Tylenol over a period of time may have been they primary catalyst for the event.
Her kidneys have started to slow down, if that continues it would add an additional problem. Tests have shown that she had a small cardiac event, but not an arrest. The doctors are unsure of what caused the cardiac event …or if this event caused everything else. The good news is that she doesn’t have any signs of a stroke or bleeding in the brain. Today they will be running numerous test and trying to see if her liver has improved any. The bottom line is that they are monitoring her and God along with her body have to do the work in the next few days.
Allison is married and has 3 daughters.
Please read below for an update on Allison. I misspoke the other day. Allison and Joey’s youngest is a boy. This was written by her husband, Joey.
Again, I can never repay the love shown in the pure volume of prayers,
calls, donations, gifts, quarters, food, dog food, staples, drinks, and
encouraging words. I can only accept them on Allison’s behalf and of
the children. I would like to extend a special thank you to those you
have/are taking care of my kids. So far they have been handling things
well; however, night-time is the hardest (as many of you know). The
blessings and care you have/are providing them will be returned to you
seven-fold. Thanks to everyone, you are such an awe-inspiring community
of God’s children.
Today was a much needed day of peaceful rest for Allison. Medically, no
change. Of all the days, she has endured so many test, needle
injections, tubes, and about every uncomfortable event imaginable…but
today, truly nothing. She actually was resting on 10 pillows – which is
more like the Allison I know and love so much. Nurses were able to
place her on both sides (throughout the day), again which is more like the
Allison I know and love so much. I know I have been indicating how
peaceful she looks, but today it radiated even more… One nurse was
even able to braid her hair. Although the seizures continue, they have
not been as intense or dramatic as previously.
The swelling of the body overall has subsided greatly, and I am now
able to hold her hand and feel like I am truly holding her hand while
caressing, praying, and caring for her. Today Allison got to watch TV a
little and listen to her iPod – two things, to her, were daily
necessities. Of course I keep anticipating for her to arise and
complain about either the channel or song…but still nothing.
I am anticipating a similar day for Sunday. I intend to share with her
passages from her bible. I am struggling with this, because I am so
upset at times that I find it hard to find solace in its words. As a
devout believer, I know it contains the answers I seek, the guidance I
desire, and the hope I long for….but my human element fears it for
some reason. Allison loved her bible(s) and loved communicating God’s
word in her own way, for those of you who have been able to participate
in one of her studies or lessons – consider yourself truly blessed. She
has a way of making the words applicable to everyday life that was so
helpful to so many.
Hope is not lost.
I have to mention I have laughed a lot today, mixed in with my cries. I
have went through about 3,000 kodak pictures, about 1,000 digital
photos, and have told/heard numerous stories that have been truly
wonderful to re-live.
As far as specific prayers: Allison’s brain; our kids; our families in
transit (many are driving/flying from super long distances – like
Europe ); health for those here; and my peace of mind.
I trust each of you will be celebrating today in the church of your
choice. Please continue to honor our God and worship him. Allison would
not want to deter you from the bigger prize at the end of the finish
line…she would want to you to pursue a more closer relationship with
Him.

My grandfather passed away this morning at 8:00 a.m. Please pray for his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Just a quick little request. I am going out of town on business Thursday – Saturday (Feb. 28th-March 1st) and my in-laws the Benefield’s will be coming in to stay with the kids. Pray that I have a safe, productive trip and that the Benefield’s have the strength and energy to keep the kids for two nights and a day and a half.
Please pray for my Grandfather. I mentioned a few weeks ago that he was having knee replacement surgery. His surgery went well, but he now has a staph infection and will be going in tomorrow for another surgical procedure to clean the wound. I hope he will then stay in the hospital for some IV antibiotics for several days. His first surgery was almost 4 wks ago, and he’s getting depressed about the slow recovery and especially this setback. Since he is the most upbeat and positive person I have ever known, his depression is very bothersome to me and to our family. Please pray that all goes well tomorrow and this week. Thank you!!!
